Meet Our Counselors

Meet the amazing and dedicated Audubon Elementary School wellness team! Students can reach out to their counselors for questions, guidance, and support.

School psychologists may provide support and consultation to teachers and parents of students experiencing learning and/or behavior problems. Students with an Individual Education Program who exhibit the need for a higher level of care may be recommended to receive Educationally-Related Mental Health Services. Please contact the SMFC Student Services Department for additional information or support at (650) 312-7341.

Carla Magallon (she/her/ella) Hi my name is Carla Magallon, I am one of the School Counselors at Sunnybrae Elementary School. I received my Bachelors in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz and my Masters in School Counseling from San Jose State University. My passion for working with students began when I was a senior in high school. I completed my community hours in various after school programs in Middle and Elementary School’s. I quickly realized that I would go home feeling fulfilled when I was able to make students feel heard and content, especially when they were navigating through their own life struggles. I worked as a clinical counselor for one year and then transitioned to school counseling. I have been working with a diverse population ranging from TK-8th grade. I enjoy being part of the Sunnybrae community, and I feel privileged every time I get to create positive relationships with students, families, and staff. I strongly believe that every student deserves to feel safe, cared for, and have access to receive the needed social/emotional and academic support to be successful. Outside of my counseling world, I enjoy spending time with my twin boys, husband, and rest of my family. I look forward to spending time outdoors in places with beautiful sceneries.
