COVID-19/ Hybrid Reopening
Dear Sunnybrae Parents,
Our staff has been busy planning the final details to welcome back our students into our hybrid model. This new phase will mean that all grade levels will experience some change with the expectation of fourth grade. You will be receiving an email communication from your new teacher on Friday, March 5th welcoming your child into their new class if they are switching teachers for the remainder of the school year. At the same time, we have also learned that San Mateo County has now moved into the Red Tier as COVID-19 cases continue to drop.
FAMILY ORIENTATION NIGHT
If you missed our hybrid family orientation meeting on February 23nd from 6:30-7:30pm, you can still watch the recording with all the information.
TIMELINE FOR REOPENING:
- March 3rd-Last day of current classes for grades 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th grade.
Students participate in their morning meeting from 8:30-9:30am and have asynchronous assignments for the rest of the day as teachers participate in professional development and prepare for the reopening.
- March 4th-5th- students have asynchronous learning so that teachers can prepare to welcome new classes. Teacher wil lsend out an email welcoming students to their new classes.
- March 8th- Welcome back kindergarten, first, second and special day hybrid classes.
Cohort AA comes on Mondays and Tuesdays (8:30-12:00pm)
Cohort BB comes on Thursdays and Fridays (8:30-12:00pm)
Wednesdays will continue to be distance learning for both cohorts (8:30-12:30pm)
March 15th- Welcome back third and fifth grade hybrid classes
Cohort AA comes on Mondays and Tuesdays (8:30am-12:00pm)
Cohort BB comes on Thursdays and Fridays (8:30am-12:00pm)
Wednesdays will continue to be distance learning for both cohorts
We have some forms that families need to fill out. Please read the following information and fill out the forms.
For hybrid families: Please read the SMFCSD Reopening Health and Safety Handbook, 2020-2021 - English or SMFCSD Reopening Health and Safety Handbook, 2020-2021 - Spanish and submit the Handbook Acknowledgement.
For all families (hybrid and distance learning): Music instruction will now only be provided on a opt-in basis as teachers are no longer able to supervise students during music instruction. Only students whose families sign the waiver will be able to attend music instruction. Please read and submit the Music for Minors Waiver: Click HERE
