Dear Sunnybrae Families,

We know that this year is quite different from any other school year that we have experienced. Regardless of our current circumstances, we have an amazing group of educators who are eager to teach your children and ready to collaborate with you in order to support your children’s social-emotional, intellectual and physical development for a successful school year of learning and growth. Through our district’s distance learning objective and guiding principles, our teachers have designed distance learning experiences for your children.

Distance Learning Parent Handbook

Please read our distance learning parent handbook to learn about what our district and school is doing to support our students during this important time.

Daily attendance affects our students’ learning. Please remember that our teachers take daily attendance during distance learning. If a student misses part of the day, they will be marked as absent for that day. If a student has three unexcused absences, our office will contact you to set up an attendance conference as the student will be considered to be truant. Students will also receive participation marks for distance learning.   Please call our office to inform us of your child's absence at 650  312-7599.

Distance Learning Schedules

Our instructional day during distance learning is very similar to our brick and mortar instructional day. This time includes synchronous (time with the teacher) and asynchronous (time working independently) activities.  Below are our daily schedules by grade level:

Wednesdays 8:30-12:30

Grades 1-3

8:30-2:50pm (ELD and some specials are after lunch)
Wednesdays 8:30-12:30

Grades 4-5

8:30-3:00pm (ELD and some specials are after lunch)

Daily Student Meals

Our district has expanded hours for students to pick up free breakfast and lunch  (7:30 am – 1:30 pm). Meal service continues at five of our elementary school sites (College Park, Foster City Elementary, Laurel, Lead and Sunnybrae), but now meals can be picked up anytime between 7:30 am and 1:30 pm. The meals may be picked up by any student who is 18 or younger. They don't need to qualify for daily meals. Please see the flyers here (Daily Student Meal Flyer English/ Daily Student Meal Flyer Spanish). Meals can also be delivered to family homes.
